True Happiness: A Light That Still Shines

They say true happiness is hard to find.

That it's easier to feel anxious, depressed, or numb than it is to feel joy. And maybe, just maybe—they’re right. Not because happiness is far away, but because we’ve redefined it so much, we can’t even see it anymore.

Somewhere along the way, happiness became an image instead of an experience. A destination instead of a presence. A possession instead of peace.

We started chasing the version of happiness we see through filtered screens—the luxury, the relationships, the milestones—and little by little, the quiet joy of the present moment started to dim. Like a diamond buried under dirt, true happiness didn’t lose its worth—it just lost its shine.

But why?
Why did we let this happen?

Why have we allowed technology and social media to shape our hearts and redefine our feelings? Since when did someone else’s highlight reel become the measure of our contentment?

We say we trust in God.
We say we have faith.
But why does happiness feel so far away?

Could it be that we’re looking in the wrong places?
Longing for joy in things that were never meant to fulfill us?
Maybe true happiness isn’t what we scroll past—it’s what we’re called to see when we pause.

True happiness is found in the quiet. In the still. In the moment when we remember that God is enough.
It’s not in the likes, or the followers, or the wish lists, or in the perfect job, or the perfect finances—it’s in the love we already have.
A love stronger than illusion.
A joy deeper than comparison.
A peace that surpasses all understanding.

So today, let’s redefine happiness. Let’s take it back.
Let’s stop measuring our joy by what we see on a screen, or what we long for and start finding it in the One who made us whole.

Because the truth is, we were never meant to find happiness in this world.
We were created to find it in Him.

And when we do?
No post, no trend, no money, no partner, no fleeting desire will ever come close.
